(St. Paul, MN) -- Governor Pawlenty isn't waiting for Minnesota's rivers to start overflowing. The Governor has sent a letter to the president, asking he declare an expedited major disaster for the state of Minnesota, because of the strong potential for severe spring flooding. Pawlenty wants the feds to help with preparedness, including the construction of levees and getting supplies to the state such as generators, potable water and sandbag machines. Forecasts says flooding should be expected this spring on the Red, Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers.
