Redone Bonding Bill Set For Passage

(St. Paul, MN)  --  The Minnesota House and Senate are set to pass a reworked bonding bill today which Governor Pawlenty has indicated that he'll sign. However, he also says he will line-item veto some projects.  Democrats' billion-dollar bonding package is well over the 725-million-dollar target set by the governor.  House Capital Investment Committee Chair Alice Hausman says it's hard to predict which projects the governor will veto, and adds they're all very important to the regions around Minnesota.  Democrats did not give the governor all the money he requested to expand the Moose Lake sex offender treatment facility, but apparently it was enough to avoid a veto of the entire bonding bill.
